July 2011 Kim Christensen changed name to Kim Sindberg. Consequently this book presents the majority of feature articles written by Kim Christensen.<\/p>\n<p>For each article a fresh comment has been written for the purpose of providing background, context and additional information.<\/p>\n<p>The articles are listed in the order they have been published. This provides a historical line through the trade finance scene for a period of almost 9 years. During this period of time significant \u201ctrade finance events\u201d have taken place. For example:<\/p>\n<p>&gt; The electronic development has really \u201chit\u201d trade finance.<\/p>\n<p>&gt; The UCP 500 was revised and the UCP 600 implemented.<\/p>\n<p>&gt; There was a financial crisis.<\/p>\n<p>&gt; The whole issue of compliance and sanctions exploded.<\/p>\n<p>&gt; Force majeure events shocked the world in different ways; like the eruption of the Icelandic Volcano Eyjafjallaj\u00f6kull and the Tsunami from the Japan earthquake.<\/p>\n<p>These topics and many others are dealt with in these articles \u2013 all of them from a trade finance \/ letter of credit (LC) perspective \u2013 and all of them written \u2013 or co-written \u2013 by a person totally dedicated to the world of trade finance with the feet solid planted in the \u201cpractical soil.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A number of the articles are co-written with other trade finance experts \u2013 i.e.:<\/p>\n<p>Daniel Devahive (LC expert \u2013 Switzerland)<\/p>\n<p>Ali Polat (LC expert and consultant \u2013 Turkey)<\/p>\n<p>Nguyen Huu Duc (LC expert \u2013 Vietnam \u2013 also known as \u201cOld Man\u201d)<\/p>\n<p>Ofei (Chinese name Wangxuehui) (Lecturer \u2013 China)<\/p>\n<p>The Foreword is written by by Shahriar Masum (Head of Import (BTB) and Corporate Trade Support of Mutual Trust Bank, Bangladesh). The foreword includes the following statement:<\/p>\n<p>To a casual reader, this book will be very impressive as it is a collection of some great articles and each article reveals a different story. So you can just go on reading article by article without taking the stress to link it with any previous chapters and still getting a very deep insight on the subject matter.
